All VMware certification candidates and existing VCP’s on VI3 prepare to get or upgrade your certification to the VMware Certified Professional 4. The new VCP4 exam will go live on August 1st. To sign up for the exam all you have to do is go to the Pearson VUE site and schedule your time slot at a center near you. Remember that there is a specific path that needs to be followed in order to attain the VMware Certified Professional certification. I’ve previously posted the VMware vSphere Certification Program, in which I highlighted this path. I also made a post that contains the VMware Education Roadmap so that everyone is aware of what’s coming up and how to line up classes according to your area of expertise. Existing VCP on VI3 qualify for the easy upgrade path to VCP 4 by simply taking the exam without having to attend a class. This is an offer that will only last until the end of the year (December 31, 2009). For those of you that just love taking certification exams, VMware is going to make the beta of the new VCP4 exam available to qualified VCP’s on VI3 and vSphere 4 beta users on June 29th. VMware controls the beta and will contact the people that qualify for the beta. The vSphere 4: Install, Configure, Manger and vSphere 4: What’s New Class will be publicly available in June, and those are the classes needed for just about anyone that wants to get certified. Get your labs ready, get to a VMware certified class, and get ready for VCP4.
